Our company was founded in 2014 by, owner, Katie Devaney. Since then our team has grown to 6 lead photographers and two videographers, which allows us to capture multiple wedding days per weekend!

We have captured love stories all over the country and into Europe. We love destination weddings.

meet katie

Katie started Be Light Photography in 2014, and since that day the company has photographed over 600 love stories across the globe. As a published photographer, she specializes in both film and digital photography - with a special place in her heart for the classic look of film. She currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her Goldendoodle pup, Lola. Finding passion through serving others, her love of traveling, and joy for her Lord and Savior, she has grown Be Light Photography to one of the largest photography companies in the area.

Jessica is a Birmingham, Alabama native and former Samford Bulldog. With a background in advertising, public relations, and business - she doubles as one of our photographers and Operations Coordinator. On any given day you will find her with a cup of coffee, watching Friends, or playing with her Aussie Doodle pup, Rylee. As one of our digital photographers, she specializes in direction and communication to ensure each person behind the camera feels confident. Her biggest compliment from former clients is her ability to create ease and comfort amidst chaos.

Alex is an Emmy award winning videographer in the Birmingham area. Alex specializes in creating stories that are authentic and told through the use of beautiful imagery. He loves capturing the moments of a wedding day that show the intimacy between two people. Alex is available for travel and would love the opportunity to capture your special day.

Meet maggie

For as long as she can remember, Maggie has always loved photographing love stories. In fact, she’s had the honor of capturing couples on their wedding day (and years beyond) for the last 10 years! After marrying and having children, Maggie joined Be Light Photography to continue her passion while allowing time for family life. Her contagious smile and warm presence makes for a cheerful addition to any occasion!

Molly usually can be found with a coffee in hand and her radio blasting way too loud. She enjoys antiques and restoring pieces back to life. She currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama with her most precious treasures- her husband, Evan, and her children, Parker and Huxley and their two dogs. Molly believes in celebrating life and the beauty that can only be found in the beautifully imperfect. Her greatest joy in photography is capturing the big moments but especially the small authentic moments that help make your day all about you. Molly is so grateful for the journey the Lord brought to her through photography and would be so honored to serve you for your special moments.

As a former ICU nurse, Leslee discovered her passion for photography after watching many families relive life’s sweetest moments through cherished photos. When she is not behind the camera, Leslee is a dedicated nurse practitioner. She balances her days between caring for her patients and creating unforgettable memories for her clients. Leslee resides in Huntsville, AL, and is married to her best friend, Craig, and is a mom to an energetic two-year-old, Colesyn. She loves all things coastal, a good dance party, Sunday brunch with a cup of coffee in hand, and playdates with her friends and their little ones! Leslee is very detail-oriented, loves authentic moments, and brings a sense of ease that will have you feeling like a pro when you are in front of her camera!
